Our Shipping Container is here! See the Progress Updates page for more details.
The Reach 4 Samoa team are hoping to provide practical and timely support to those affected by the tsunami, both by their presence and actions when they travel there, and by the items that they can help to distribute to those who need them most.
Our friends at Agility Logistics have given us excellent support in this effort by organising a shipping container which will be sent to the people of Samoa on Friday 27th November full of much needed help, in the form of:
- Hygiene Packs
- First Aid Kits
- Cooking Goods (pots, pans, utensils)
- Clothing
- Toys
- Education Matter (notepads, pens, pencils)
- Building Equipment (tools, nails, etc)
- Tinned Food
- Bottled Water
We need your help to fill this container to the brim and show the people of Samoa that we care about them and want to help. Please spread the word and collect items in these categories. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE DANGEROUS GOODS such as aerosols, glues, gas bottles, paints or batteries.
Collected items can be dropped off at 3 Akora St, Slacks Creek (rear car park), from 10am to 4pm from 4th November to the 21st November 2009. So that we can pack the items and have the container ready to go, the cut-off for all deliveries is MIDDAY on 21st November.
We will also have a stand at Touch 4 Samoa where you can drop off items for the shipping container if you have them ready by Saturday 7th November.
Many thanks go to all who have helped to enable this venture to go ahead, and to all those willing to donate items. In particular we are working with many schools in Logan City and at Forest Lake High School.
