Reach for Samoa Update

The shipping container arrived just before Christmas and the aid on board has been distributed over the last several weeks in affected areas.  Because of the generous support of our sponsors like Agility we were able to get the aid to where it needed to go.

Because of the generous support of the community through activities such as Touch 4 Samoa and donations from various schools and other organisations we were able to donate $5000 AUD which converted to 10,700 WST.  The money will be used to purchase further materials to support the community as it continues the reconstruction process.

Every week we our resident fitness expert Alec Fata will be posting health and fitness tips to the PHATS page.  PHATS stands for Peoples Health And Training Support.

Alec is currently playing in the Queensland Cup and just finished  running a twelve week challenge in Logan City which involved weekly workouts, weigh ins and a couple of weekend boot camps on the beach to help improve peoples fitness.

At Hardout we believe in putting in the hard yards so that we can improve our lifestyles and have a healthier community.

For those of you wanting to burn off the Christmas goodies the good folks at Hardout are announcing the next Hardout  Touch Tournament.  It will be held on January 23 which is a Saturday.

We will have competition for the under 15’s, mixed adults, mens and for the first time have added a mixed comp for the over 35’s.  Registration can be found here and this time around it will be a flat $150 per team registration with teams having between 10 and 14 players.  Payment this time will be done via PayPal and you will be able to use a Visa or Mastercard or direct debit through your PayPal account at the time of registration.

We got a lot of feedback after Touch 4 Samoa about how families appreciated the face painting and other activities for the kids.  We will have the face painting and jumping castles again for the kids.

We will also be firing up the barbie again with the sausage sizzle and hamburgers with lots of drinks available to help all the participants to cope with the heat.

We would love you to get a team together and get involved and keep checking back for updates over the coming weeks.
